Message Bravo on your mental health check program. It's time for cops to understand that it is not all about brawn, muscle and being macho. When I go out I want every advantge I have and I don't want things clouding my mind and slowing me down. Any cops who complain that this is "touchy feely" haven't been in a counselors office where you take off the gloves and learn good solid things about yourself, if you want to, that is. Or you can just stay in fantasy land and pretend nothing will ever bother you. Cops like that scare me and I don't want them as MY partner.

Message Keep hammering at your message. My department recently lost an officer to suicide and, not only did they do everything they could to hide it, I am convinced it had much to do with the stress of the job. We have counselors, but no one will go because what is said is passed on to the department. You seem to understand and we need departments who care enough to put these mental health checks into place. Thank you and Good luck!

Message My department is slow but is coming along. Police suicide, PTSD and the impact they have on the public servants who are doing their best out in their patrol cars and beats are terrible problems. You are leading the way with your programs and your wisdom and insight will save lives of good men and women who wear the badge.

Message I have been retired for three years, now, and had no idea why I was'nt able to sleep or sit still. Nightmares, anxious all the time, and angry with my family. Your website and Code 9 video made me realize that a bit of help was in order and I started seeing a therapist. Yes, I went through two therapists to find the right one, but I'm on the right path, because of you good people. You know what you're doing and saying and DON'T GIVE UP. There are a lot more out there like me who need to hear your message.

Message I am a retired Oakland County Deputy Sheriff here in Michigan. I suffer from PTSD and did go out in an attempt to commit suicide. I am now a Limited License Professional Counselor working to reach all First Responders who want someone who has walked in their shoes. I would very much like to be part of your orginazation, if it is allowed. I found no one to talk to who did what we do, but now I want to be there for anyone who wears a uniform and needs help.
